Job Description
Megaport is looking for a remote, full-time Technical Business Analyst to join one of its software engineering teams. The company trades publicly on the ASX and is based in Brisbane. It calls itself a frontrunner in NaaS offerings, helping businesses link up with clouds, data centers and one another, and it employs over 600 people spread between APAC, Europe and the Americas.
The analyst bridges business objectives and technical delivery. The analyst sets the business purpose, what counts as done, and how each stakeholder is affected, while engineers decide how solutions get built. Developers stay unblocked by receiving answers to logic and domain questions, while the analyst keeps the backlog well groomed and internal documentation current.
Day to day, the analyst runs discovery sessions with stakeholders, converts functional needs into technical specifications, and uses diagrams, system flows and user journeys to make processes visible. The role owns and ranks the team's user stories, leads agile refinement meetings, and looks for ways to improve how business and engineering teams work together.
Applicants should have at least five years in analysis work, or a comparable technical job, on agile software teams. Asking pointed questions to find root causes, following discussions about APIs and system behavior, and explaining complicated ideas to both technical and non-technical people are key. Practical exposure to APIs, web services and web applications is required. The company encourages applicants who do not match every requirement to apply.
Perks include a remote-first culture with optional coworking, parental and birthday leave, an annual leave purchase scheme, a wellness allowance, and study support with paid study leave.
