Job Description
Lambda is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead the integrated delivery program for new data center builds. Operating as the primary authority for milestones, dependencies, and risks, this role manages projects from initial site handoff through construction, commissioning, operational readiness, and final turnover to Network Deployment. The successful candidate will navigate compressed timelines and high ambiguity while coordinating internal teams and external contractors across site work, utilities, mechanical and electrical systems, white space, and inspections. Founded in 2012 with over 500 employees, Lambda operates an AI cloud infrastructure serving tens of thousands of customers, ranging from individual researchers to large enterprises and hyperscalers. The company is dedicated to making computing power universally accessible. This full-time remote position offers a salary range between $214,000 and $284,000 per year alongside comprehensive benefits, including medical coverage, wellness and commuter stipends, a 401(k) plan with a 2 percent company match, and flexible paid time off. Travel of approximately 40 percent is required to visit sites, evaluate progress, and cultivate vendor relationships.
Responsibilities
- Manage the comprehensive schedule from site handoff to operations by dividing builds into distinct workstreams with designated owners and critical path tracking
- Drive delivery sequences covering rack specifications, engineering criteria, design sets, permits, construction, and commissioning for megawatt-scale high-density capacity
- Coordinate cross-functional execution involving real estate, energy and utilities, engineering, procurement, construction management, commissioning, operations, security, finance, and legal teams
- Maintain risk registers, dependency logs, decision trackers, and variance reports to identify potential delays early and implement schedule recovery plans
- Hold external partners accountable to commercial commitments, shipping schedules, and contractual milestones
- Establish handover criteria to guarantee that power, cooling, controls, white space, cable pathways, and documentation are prepared for network deployment
- Develop scalable playbooks, dashboards, and lessons-learned frameworks for concurrent deployments
- Travel to physical locations roughly 40 percent of the time to verify field progress and strengthen partner relationships
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional experience in infrastructure program management, data center delivery, construction management, mission-critical facilities, or large capital projects
- Demonstrated background in delivering ground-up data centers or comparable industrial, mission-critical, semiconductor, or energy facilities
- Comprehensive understanding of the full project lifecycle encompassing site handoff, permitting, design, utilities, procurement, construction, and commissioning
- Proficiency in managing integrated schedules, dependency tracking, critical paths, and change control procedures
Qualifications
- Direct delivery experience with hyperscale facilities, artificial intelligence or GPU environments, cloud regions, or high-density compute infrastructure
- Familiarity with utility interconnection, medium and high voltage power, substations, and liquid cooling systems
- Previous collaboration with general contractors, colocation providers, engineering, procurement and construction firms, commissioning agents, and permitting authorities
- Possession of a PMP, project controls, engineering, or construction management certification
