Montu is seeking independent contractors to join its telehealth platform, Alternaleaf, as remote practitioners based in Tasmania. Alternaleaf operates as a telehealth provider helping patients access alternative medical care through virtual appointments with medical professionals. This position is suited for practitioners who can dedicate approximately 10 hours weekly with flexible scheduling options to fit around existing professional schedules. The role involves managing a broad patient demographic encompassing various ages and health presentations. Practitioners will conduct virtual appointments, complete clinical evaluations, manage medication prescribing including S4 and S8 substances, and handle subsequent follow-ups. The environment is entirely digital, requiring comfort with online software, rigorous compliance adherence, and collaboration with nursing staff and support teams. Compensation is structured around a per-consultation rate with potential incentives for increased availability. An orientation program and ongoing support from a dedicated Team Leader are provided.
Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual appointments across a diverse patient demographic including individuals under the age of 25
- Handle clinical evaluations, provide prescriptions for S4 and S8 substances, and conduct follow-up appointments
- Collaborate with nursing staff and administrative support personnel to streamline patient care
- Record complete documentation and maintain compliance within a digital environment
- Utilize digital software to enhance health outcomes and operational efficiency
Requirements
- Hold an MBBS or equivalent medical degree
- Possess unrestricted AHPRA registration with a minimum of PGY4 standing
- Manage 10-minute appointments efficiently at a rate of 4 to 6 patients per hour
- Understand privacy regulations, Real Time Prescription Monitoring, S8 rules, and medico-legal responsibilities
- Maintain strong clinical judgment applying an evidence-based and harm-reduction perspective
- Commit to approximately 10 hours per week of availability
