Job Description
Tupande, the Kenya program of One Acre Fund, is hiring a hands-on AI engineering lead on a fixed-term contract, working on-site. The role sets the AI and automation direction, turns business priorities into a delivery roadmap, and leads AI-enabled solutions from design through to scaling. Work spans enterprise systems, data platforms and integrations.
The aim is to improve how customers are served, run operations more efficiently and increase farmer impact. The lead also builds the engineering team through mentoring and governance standards, and tracks the performance and risks of deployed solutions.
Responsibilities
- Set the AI and automation roadmap in step with business priorities, and measure the value it delivers
- Lead the design, build and expansion of AI-enabled solutions and workflows from start to finish
- Architect integrations that link AI capabilities with enterprise applications and data platforms
- Mentor engineers and set governance standards backed by technical and architecture reviews
Requirements
- Hands-on record of shipping production AI, automation or intelligent workflow systems
- Experience with APIs, middleware and joining up enterprise systems
- Ability to turn business problems into practical AI solutions and weigh technical options
Qualifications
- Technical degree (bachelor level or higher) in a computing, data or engineering discipline
