Tupande, the Kenya program run by One Acre Fund, is seeking an automation and engineering leader on a fixed-term basis, working on-site. The role sets AI and engineering direction, builds automation capability and leads high-impact solutions, combining hands-on technical work with business partnership and team leadership.
It covers the portfolio end to end: evaluating new technologies, guiding architecture decisions, setting integration standards, and monitoring delivery and adoption. The post also involves growing an engineering team that delivers consistently and representing technology priorities in leadership forums.
Responsibilities
- Define the AI and engineering strategy and a roadmap aligned with long-term organizational goals
- Direct the creation and rollout of AI, automation and integration initiatives that scale, including hands-on prototyping
- Define integration rules for enterprise systems, APIs and third-party tools, and run architecture reviews
- Coach the engineering team, set performance standards and build succession pipelines
Requirements
- Track record of delivering production AI and automation systems
- Strong integration experience across middleware, APIs and enterprise systems
- Skill in judging technical options and steering design choices
Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in a technical discipline, or a first degree plus relevant certifications
- Strong grasp of corporate software systems, automation tools and change management
