Job Description

Internetwork Consulting Services is seeking a User Experience (UX) Designer to design accessible, engaging products that serve user needs and business goals. The role works through research, design, testing and ongoing improvement alongside stakeholders, analysts, engineers, content specialists and project leads.

Research methods include interviews, surveys, workshops, usability tests and reviewing analytics, while the design output covers persona sketches, journey maps, flow charts, wireframes and clickable prototypes. The designer runs design-thinking sessions, converts business requirements into design answers, and tests ideas with users, iterating on what they learn. The role also builds and evolves design systems with reusable components, patterns and style guides, supports developers during implementation to keep designs faithful, and recommends improvements based on user feedback and performance metrics.

Applicants should hold a degree in HCI, design, psychology, computing or a nearby discipline, or show comparable experience. At least three years of UX design on websites, web apps or digital platforms is required, along with Figma skills and experience in Agile or Scrum teams. A portfolio that demonstrates how the applicant works, along with completed projects, is required; it can be presented in any accessible form, not necessarily as a website.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out research such as interviews, surveys, workshops, usability tests and analytics reviews
  • Produce personas, journey maps, flow diagrams, wireframes, mockups and clickable prototypes
  • Turn what the business needs and what users need into workable design answers
  • Lead workshops built on design thinking and user-centered methods
  • Keep designs within Section 508 and WCAG expectations
  • Build and evolve design systems, patterns and UX standards
  • Support developers during implementation to keep designs faithful
  • Recommend improvements based on user feedback and performance data

Requirements

  • Degree in HCI, design, psychology, computing or a nearby discipline, or comparable experience
  • Three-plus years of UX design on websites, web apps or digital platforms
  • Experience with user research and usability testing
  • Figma skills spanning interface work, wireframes, prototypes and team collaboration
  • Knowledge of user-centered design methods and design thinking
  • Grasp of adaptive layouts and current web conventions
  • Clear communicator who presents and facilitates well
  • Background in Agile or Scrum environments
  • Portfolio of finished UX projects that shows the design process

Qualifications

  • Work on public-sector or government digital products
  • Familiar with Section 508 and with the WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 criteria
  • Exposure to Drupal or other CMS and DXP products
  • Credential in UX or human-centered design, or similar
