Job Description

The Long-Term Stock Exchange (LTSE), an SEC-registered national securities exchange focused on fair markets and sustainable corporate growth founded by Eric Ries, is seeking a remote Vice President of Finance. Reporting to the CFO/COO, this hands-on leadership position directs financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, audits, and strategic financial planning across the enterprise. The role suits an experienced finance professional who enjoys moving between high-level strategy and detailed execution while collaborating closely with the Senior Accountant and executive leadership. The person in this position will shape financial insights to guide company decisions, manage external tax and audit relationships, oversee capitalization tables, and continuously improve financial processes as the business grows.

Responsibilities

  • Review enterprise financial statements, supporting schedules, and accounting outputs for accuracy and timely delivery
  • Establish enterprise close requirements and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end close results
  • Lead annual financial statement audits and coordinate communications with external auditors and internal stakeholders
  • Own quarterly intercompany calculations along with their supporting schedules and entries
  • Maintain accounting policies, documentation, and internal controls over financial reporting
  • Manage budget-to-actual reporting, analyze variances, and identify emerging financial trends
  • Partner with the CFO/COO to run the annual budgeting process alongside department leaders
  • Develop and maintain the enterprise-wide long-term financial model incorporating operating assumptions and risks
  • Lead enterprise re-forecasting, scenario planning, and expense management initiatives
  • Prepare financial presentation materials for boards and board committees
  • Set standards and controls for accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, and payroll-related activities
  • Authorize vendor invoices and cash disbursements based on company policies
  • Manage external tax accountant relationships and ensure federal, state, local, and sales tax compliance
  • Lead the annual 409A valuation process and review stock-based compensation records
  • Maintain the company capitalization table in partnership with the operations team
  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Operations, and other departments to mitigate compliance and financial risks

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in finance and accounting
  • Deep expertise in US GAAP, technical accounting, financial reporting, close management, audits, tax coordination, and internal controls
  • Proven ability to build and manage integrated financial models, budgeting, scenario planning, and variance analysis
  • Experience translating detailed financial data into practical recommendations for executive leadership
  • Strong cross-functional communication and leadership skills to drive outcomes across teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field
  • Active CPA license
  • Prior experience as a Controller, Senior Controller, or senior finance leader handling reporting and planning
  • Public company financial reporting and complex technical accounting experience
  • Big Four public accounting background or comparable fast-paced corporate experience
  • Experience building or scaling finance operations at an early-stage or growth-stage company
  • Background in financial services, securities markets, exchanges, or venture-backed tech companies
