Job Description
Tide is seeking a leader for its Ongoing Monitoring engineering organization, at VP level. The VP answers to the company's Chief Data and Technology Officer. Tide provides business accounts and connected admin tools, from invoicing through to accounting, for small businesses, and has more than two million members across France, Germany, India and the UK.
Ongoing Monitoring spots fraud, financial crime and compliance risk in each transaction Tide handles. Its remit runs from real-time checks on bank payments and merchant acquiring fraud through to AML, counter-terrorist financing, sanctions screening, prohibited-activity checks and the tools investigators use. The work involves machine learning models in production and agentic AI inside regulated workflows.
The VP sets direction for engineering and leads teams spanning back end, front end, data science, machine learning and analytics. Most engineers are based in Hyderabad, and product leadership is split between Hyderabad and London. The VP is responsible for the Decision Engine and the Decision Intelligence Platform, manages the model lifecycle from development through backtesting, shadow running and staged rollout to production monitoring, and moves monitoring agents onto shared agentic infrastructure. The goal is lower fraud losses, more automated alert handling and a falling monitoring cost per member.
The ideal candidate has led engineering in areas such as fraud, financial crime, risk and other real-time decision systems, and has converted platform spending into measurable results. They have taken machine learning into production at scale, worked in regulated settings alongside second-line risk teams and regulators, and can lead distributed teams across several markets. Hands-on work putting AI or agentic systems into regulated processes, with governance, evaluation and people checking outputs, would count in your favour.

Requirements
- Experience running engineering in areas such as fraud and financial crime, plus risk and real-time decisioning
- Proof of converting platform spend into results in fraud detection, unit cost reduction and workflow automation

- Experience in controlled settings, working with second-line risk, compliance and regulators
- Sound judgment on delivery, platform strategy, data architecture, org design and code quality
- Capacity to direct spread-out teams across several markets and get multiple functions behind a single plan
