This role focuses on providing front-end web development solutions for advocacy engagement, fundraising initiatives, and other strategic goals. The position integrates modern AI-assisted and agentic development tools to increase delivery speed while maintaining strict security, quality, and human oversight standards.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional who can collaborate effectively with visual, digital marketing, and information security teams. Responsibilities include building and maintaining custom webpages, donation forms, email templates, and advocacy forms while incorporating accessibility, page speed optimization, and GDPR compliance. Candidates should expect to manage AI-generated code securely, troubleshoot technical obstacles in Engaging Networks, and build interactive data visualizations. This role offers the opportunity to combine technical expertise with a passion for animal protection issues.
Employment is full-time and remote based within the United States, though individuals must be able to accommodate Eastern Time hours as necessary. The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $115,000, determined by experience, skills, and educational background.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with visual, digital marketing, and information security groups to gather project needs and provide technical advice
- Write efficient code for custom webpages, email templates, advocacy forms, and donation forms
- Integrate standards for page speed optimization, user experience, accessibility, and GDPR compliance
- Utilize AI-assisted development platforms and agentic coding assistants for coding, debugging, refactoring, testing, and documentation
- Maintain AI solutions, monitor performance over time, and apply human-in-the-loop review for all generated code
- Troubleshoot issues and follow quality assurance procedures within Engaging Networks
- Coordinate with vendor partners and the Information Security team to meet PCI compliance and security standards
- Partner with the testing team to implement features and execute A/B and multivariate tests on forms
- Produce and update clear documentation for custom web projects, support guides, and incident reports
Requirements
- At least four years of hands-on experience in front-end web development and custom website creation
- Demonstrated background using Engaging Networks or alternative eCRMs
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, Sass, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, GitHub, Engaging Networks modules, Webpack, Node, npm, core AWS services, and Mailgun
- Direct experience utilizing AI coding assistants and agentic development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Microsoft Copilot Studio
- Understanding of responsive, mobile-first web design, browser support, UX, page speed optimization, accessibility, and GDPR compliance
- Familiarity with cookie consent tools like Iubenda
- Ability to build interactive data visualizations for supporter campaigns based on Adobe XD or Figma files
- Knowledge of digital marketing strategies targeting US and international audiences
- Ability to multitask within a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines while working both independently and collaboratively
- Residency in the United States with the ability to accommodate Eastern Time hours
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in web development, computer programming, or a related field, or equivalent practical work experience
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
