Webbing is hiring a full-time Workflow Developer & Tester to work remotely. Established in early 2010, Webbing operates as a global data MVNO providing enterprise-grade global connectivity and Internet of Things services spanning over 200 countries and more than 600 mobile carrier networks. The company delivers secure network options, web content intelligence, and a software platform that lets enterprise clients monitor, manage, and optimize their data usage in real-time.
In this position, the engineer will construct Temporal workflow activities in Go, set up the Inventory Management Database to scale for 30 million records, and construct bulk import tools to ingest data ranges from vendors. The daily duties also involve developing REST API endpoints, writing integration tests, pairing with a senior developer, building comprehensive test suites, running load and stress tests, automating testing within CI pipelines, and supporting user acceptance testing by troubleshooting bugs.
This opportunity fits backend software engineers who have production experience and either strong Go skills or solid Java foundations with an eagerness to transition into Go. Responsibilities
- Implement Temporal workflow activities using Go including HSS adapter, PCRF adapter, and Inventory updates
- Construct and validate unit tests for all workflow activities starting from day one
- Design the Inventory Management Database with proper tables, indexes, and partitioning for 30 million records
- Build bulk import tooling to handle CSV and vendor range ingestions for ICCID, IMSI, and MSISDN
- Create REST API endpoints for the Inventory database to allocate, reserve, release, and query SIM records
- Write integration tests connecting workflows, mock network elements, and database assertions
- Collaborate closely with the senior developer through paired programming sessions
- Execute end-to-end test suites covering full provisioning flows from SIM activation to order closure
- Simulate peak transactions per second provisioning through load and stress testing
- Integrate test automation into CI pipelines for all workflow and API tests
- Handle HSS synchronization integration to reflect IMSI allocation states
- Manage number portability hooks within the Inventory database
- Provide user acceptance testing support by reproducing bugs, writing regression tests, and validating fixes
Requirements
- Possess two to four years of backend software development experience in production environments
- Demonstrate primary development proficiency in Go, or strong Java fundamentals with a willingness to work in Go
- Build REST APIs that are consumed by other services and verified by automated suites
- Design tables, build indexes, write queries, and understand query plans in PostgreSQL
- Treat unit and integration testing as a first-class responsibility
- Manage branching, pull requests, and code reviews using Git
- Bring experience with event-driven architectures involving RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Redis Pub/Sub
- Understand basic Kubernetes principles for workload deployments
- Operate efficiently under the technical guidance of a senior lead
- Demonstrate fluency in English
Qualifications
- Familiarity with workflow engines such as Temporal, Camunda, Apache Airflow, or AWS Step Functions
- Background in telecommunications or BSS/OSS regarding SIM lifecycles, provisioning, and activation
- Experience with test frameworks including Go testing, Testify, and mock frameworks
- Ability to run and interpret results from load testing tools like k6, Locust, or JMeter
- Experience building and running containerized services with Docker
- Familiarity with event-sourced or append-only database patterns
- Exposure to the Temporal.io SDK, including personal or side projects
- Scripting and data processing skills in Python
- Understanding of how to instrument code with Prometheus metrics
- Knowledge of telecom protocols such as Diameter, SS7, and SMPP
