Limpopo College of Nursing 2027 Intake: Dates, Fee and How to Apply

The Limpopo College of Nursing is taking online applications for two 2027 intakes: the one-year Higher Certificate in Auxiliary Nursing (R.169) closes on 31 October 2026, and the three-year Diploma in Nursing: General (R.171) closes on 30 November 2026. You download the official form, attach certified documents and proof of a R150 non-refundable administration fee, and upload everything through the link for your district. If the college has not contacted you by the end of February 2027, treat your application as unsuccessful.
This guide is based on the two official adverts (Departmental Circulars 66 and 67 of 2026) published by the Limpopo Department of Health. It explains which programme fits you, what to send, and how to avoid the mistakes that get applications thrown out.

Which programme should you apply for?
Higher Certificate in Auxiliary Nursing (R.169)
This is the shorter, one-year qualification. It suits applicants who want to start working in nursing sooner and build up from there. Its window is the tighter one: applications close on 31 October 2026, so if this is your choice, apply now rather than in the last days.
Diploma in Nursing: General (R.171)
The three-year diploma is the longer route into general nursing. Its window runs until 30 November 2026. The advert adds one extra rule: enrolled nurses already employed by the Department must also complete the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) form, which is meant for study-leave candidates.
The programme codes refer to the nursing education regulations in Government Notices R.169 and R.171 of 8 March 2013, issued under the Nursing Act. Minimum subjects and marks are set out in each programme's revised prospectus, which is linked from the advert. Read the prospectus for the programme you choose before you fill in the form, because the adverts themselves do not list subject or mark requirements.
Documents you need
Both adverts ask for the same core pack:
The completed Limpopo College of Nursing application form
The completed rating scale (it comes with the application form)
Certified copies of your educational qualifications, including your Matric or National Senior Certificate
Proof of residence
A certified copy of your identity document (ID)
Proof of payment of the R150 administration fee (banking details are in the prospectus)
R.171 only: the RPL form, if you are an enrolled nurse employed by the Department
Scan each document clearly and check that certification stamps and dates are readable before you upload.
How to apply step by step
Open the official advert. Go to the Limpopo Department of Health careers page and open "Advert for R.169" or "Advert for R.171 Limpopo College of Nursing Student Intake 2027".
Download the form and prospectus. Use the "Click here" links in the advert's forms section to get the application form, rating scale and revised prospectus.
Check the requirements. Confirm in the prospectus that your subjects and results meet the minimum for your chosen programme.
Pay the R150 fee. Use only the banking details printed in the official prospectus and keep the proof of payment.
Complete the form. Quote the Departmental Circular number (66 for R.169, 67 for R.171) as your reference number, as the advert instructs.
Upload to your district. Choose the upload link for the district you belong to (see the list below) and submit your form and certified documents.
Keep records. Save copies of everything you submitted and the date you submitted it.
District upload references
Each district has its own upload link in the advert. Make sure you use the right one for your programme:
Capricorn: LDH/10/001 (R.169) · LDH/10/006 (R.171)
Mopani: LDH/10/002 (R.169) · LDH/10/007 (R.171)
Sekhukhune: LDH/10/003 (R.169) · LDH/10/008 (R.171)
Vhembe: LDH/10/004 (R.169) · LDH/10/009 (R.171)
Waterberg: LDH/10/005 (R.169) · LDH/10/0010 (R.171)
The upload page may still show "2026" in its position title. The adverts list every position as "Student Nurse training for 2027", so go by the reference number for your district and programme.
What happens after you apply
The college says it reserves the right to select or not select any applicant, and it will correspond only with selected candidates. There is no published shortlist date. The adverts state that if you have not heard from the college by the end of February 2027, you should consider your application unsuccessful. Keep your phone number and email active during this period and check them regularly.
About the R150 fee and scams
The adverts state that all applicants must pay a non-refundable R150 administration fee. They also state that no payment of any kind is required to be registered for training as a nurse at the college. In practice, this means the R150 is the only payment the advert mentions. Anyone who asks for extra money to "secure" a place, speed up selection or get you onto a list is not acting for the college.
Pay only into the account in the official prospectus

Other provincial intakes
If you live outside Limpopo, check your own province's college. The Mpumalanga College of Nursing's 2027 Diploma in Nursing window closed on 2 October 2026, according to its official student portal. For Gauteng, see our Gauteng College of Nursing 2027 intake guide.
