Job Description
Softgic is recruiting a remote developer with hands-on experience writing RPG and RPGLE for IBM AS400 (iSeries) systems and documented work using the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne toolset. The listing rules out infrastructure administrators, JD Edwards functional consultants, and AS400 developers who lack JD Edwards experience. The ideal person works across both platforms, troubleshoots production issues, changes existing customisations and takes part in system integrations.
Routine tasks cover writing, changing, debugging and upkeep of RPG, RPGLE and CL code, investigating technical faults and performance slowdowns, and supporting live enterprise systems. On the JD Edwards side, the developer builds and customises solutions for finance, stock, distribution, buying and production modules. This covers business functions, batch reports (UBEs), named event rules, table conversions and business views, with Object Management Workbench handling development objects through their lifecycle.
Further tasks include designing and maintaining SQL queries, stored procedures and DB2 data processes, linking JD Edwards with outside systems through APIs, EDI and flat files, assisting with upgrades, ESU installations and patches, and writing technical notes, development specifications and support instructions. The developer keeps code aligned with coding standards and collaborates with functional, infrastructure and business teams on operational needs. English at a minimum of B2 level is required so the person can take part in meetings and read technical material.

- Give internal users technical and functional assistance
- Contribute to upgrades, ESU installations, patch rollouts and enhancements
- Write technical notes, dev specs and procedures for support staff
- Keep source code and technical objects aligned with best-practice standards
- Coordinate with functional, infrastructure and business teams to resolve operational needs
