Deloitte is seeking an ESG Reporting Consultant through its Africa Talent program. This professional will guide corporate clients through changing sustainability regulations and reporting standards, assisting them in building compliant and strategic frameworks. The position involves collaborating with international colleagues, supporting senior team members in client interactions, and producing clear project materials. This role is well-suited for individuals with a background in sustainability, finance, economics, or risk management who want to develop their expertise within a global organization.
Responsibilities
- Guide clients through evolving sustainability legislation and integrated reporting frameworks such as CSRD, EU Taxonomy, SFDR, IFRS, TCFD, and TNFD
- Assist clients in creating compliant reporting structures by conducting gap assessments and double materiality evaluations
- Develop key performance indicators and help organizations obtain and improve ESG ratings
- Build the structure and content for sustainability policies and reports
- Evaluate sustainability disclosures to verify they satisfy all legal standards
- Prepare proposals, thought leadership articles, and industry events for practice development
- Engage in discussions with senior team members and prepare supporting documentation for project phases
- Produce professional overviews for internal and external meetings via emails, PowerPoint decks, and Excel factsheets
Requirements
- Hold a B.Com Degree or Master degree, or be close to completing a WO Master degree, in Sustainability, Climate Risk Management, Environmental Engineering, Economics, Audit, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Demonstrate an interest in sustainability through study choices, internships, work experience, student associations, or personal projects
- Possess a strong grasp of sustainability regulations and ESG standards including the GHG Protocol, GRI, and the EU Green Bond Framework
- Demonstrate experience handling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
- Show interest in policy work related to applying standards and procedures for regulatory compliance
- Have experience writing and preparing ESG policies and reports
- Communicate fluently in written and oral English
- Bring approximately one year of professional background in ESG assurance, sustainability reporting, or a closely related service line
Qualifications
- Ability to understand or willingness to learn Dutch
- Analytical, independent, entrepreneurial, and result-oriented working style
- Proactive attitude with the flexibility to operate effectively in a team and in a remote working environment
