The enterprise currently seeks an AI/ML Software Engineer to build and scale data platforms and machine learning systems across its portfolio.
In this fully remote position, the engineer will act as a hands-on technical builder and advisor. Responsibilities include designing and delivering internal large language model applications, data pipelines, and supporting infrastructure. The specialist will partner directly with operating companies to turn data into practical business outcomes, handle the full product delivery lifecycle, and establish repeatable engineering playbooks.
This role suits an experienced engineer who enjoys context-switching across multiple businesses, sharing technical knowledge through training and enablement, and implementing reliable production systems. Candidates must demonstrate deep expertise in machine learning, data engineering, and applied artificial intelligence at scale.
Responsibilities
- Lead high-impact artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data engineering projects across various portfolio companies
- Design and build data pipelines, model integrations, APIs, and infrastructure for internal large language model applications
- Develop language model-powered tools and workflows to enhance business operations and product capabilities
- Partner with operating companies to commercialize data through new products, features, and analytics offerings
- Serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor to engineering and data teams
- Contribute to enablement efforts by sharing guidance, best practices, and conducting training sessions for portfolio teams
- Establish repeatable patterns, playbooks, and best practices for deploying artificial intelligence and data solutions
- Own the entire delivery lifecycle from scoping to production handoff and knowledge transfer
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience deploying machine learning, data engineering, and applied artificial intelligence solutions at scale
- Familiarity with large language model-based applications, model application programming interfaces, retrieval workflows, and evaluation approaches
- Development experience with production solutions utilizing several technologies such as Bedrock, Sagemaker, Vertex AI, Glue, Airflow, Spark, Hadoop, Storm, time series databases, Parquet, Iceberg, Redshift, Kafka, Kinesis, Big Query, Cassandra, Open/Elastic Search, dbt, Monte Carlo, and Databricks
- Proficiency in developing solutions and analyzing data using Python, R, and SQL
- Strong data validation skills to ensure language model and machine learning outputs are accurate and grounded
- Understanding of language model fine-tuning, inference economics, and model selection judgment
- Experience developing forecasting solutions for metrics including sales, budgets, resources, demand, and capacity planning
