Convene Hospitality Group operates global lifestyle brands and hospitality venues designed for corporate meetings, gatherings, and brand activations. The technology organization is seeking an Analytics Engineer to join the Data Platform team.
In this position, you will manage data products from ingestion to visualization, build scalable data models, and establish a reliable semantic layer. You will collaborate closely with various business units, including finance, sales, and operations, while reporting directly to the Data Platform Engineering Manager.
This role focuses on delivering trusted metrics across dashboards, conversational analytics, and business agents. You will utilize modern tools such as Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, and ThoughtSpot to establish robust data infrastructure, ensure high data quality, and maintain strict access governance.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with finance, sales, and operations departments to translate business requirements into trusted metrics and models
- Configure and maintain Fivetran connectors to handle ingestion, schema changes, and load errors
- Develop dbt models to transition data through bronze, silver, and gold tiers aligned with company operations
- Establish definitions, dimensions, and relationships within the semantic layer for dashboards and AI agents
- Create self-service Liveboards and models in ThoughtSpot for user data exploration
- Design and execute regression suites using golden question sets to validate conversational analytics quality
- Apply data governance standards, including tag-based masking and row access policies for sensitive information
- Monitor data pipeline health, freshness, and query performance to keep warehouse costs optimized
- Leverage AI agents for multi-step engineering tasks while holding agent output to standard review criteria
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in analytics engineering, business intelligence development, or data engineering
- Proficiency in writing SQL and creating production-level dbt models
- Practical background working within cloud data warehouses, specifically Snowflake
- Familiarity with ELT ingestion tools like Fivetran and troubleshooting source data issues
- Solid understanding of data modeling principles, including medallion layering and dimensional models
- Experience building self-service data products or dashboards utilized for business decisions
Qualifications
- Prior evaluation experience with natural language analytics output or large language model regression testing
- Background working within customer-centric, multi-location industries such as hospitality, events, or real estate
