Job Description

The person hired will take total ownership of the data ecosystem, driving modernization initiatives and AI-first engineering efforts while collaborating closely with product engineering teams. Key responsibilities include shifting data models from source-based structures to domain-oriented frameworks, establishing rigorous data quality standards, and implementing governed BI layers and natural language analytics capabilities. Current infrastructure relies on Snowflake, dbt, and Fivetran, with plans to expand utilizing native Snowflake features and Terraform configuration management.

This is a full-time position offering a base salary between $180,000 and $200,000 per year, accompanied by a total target compensation package reaching up to $220,000 including an annual performance bonus. Responsibilities

Manage the complete data platform architecture, reliability, and roadmap across Snowflake, dbt, and Fivetran
Transition platform configurations from user interfaces into Terraform to ensure reproducible and version-controlled infrastructure
Redesign business data models into domain-oriented schemas aligned with organizational operations
Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Finance, Sales, and Operations to translate requirements into trusted metrics
Partner with product engineering squads on schema planning, data contracts, and upstream modifications
Establish testing protocols, freshness monitoring, and reconciliation rules to guarantee data reliability
Deploy semantic layers within Snowflake alongside governed business intelligence dashboards
Implement safe conversational analytics and natural language querying tools
Handle access management, personally identifiable information, and documentation standards
Hire, mentor, and direct analytics engineers and external contractors through code reviews and pair programming
Write dbt models, review pull requests, and debug data pipelines directly

Requirements

Bring seven or more years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data architecture
Demonstrate practical use of AI agents for multi-step engineering tasks such as modeling, testing, and debugging
Show deep expertise in Snowflake and dbt project structuring, scaling, and performance tuning
Possess fluency in modern data modeling principles and domain-oriented mart design
Have experience building data quality measures, observability practices, and semantic layers
Understand managed data ingestion platforms like Fivetran
Demonstrate leadership experience as a technical lead, mentor, or director of external contractors

Qualifications

Prior deployment experience with ThoughtSpot or alternative search-driven business intelligence tools
Familiarity deploying autonomous agents accompanied by monitoring and safety controls
Experience modeling datasets sourced from Salesforce, NetSuite, or human resources platforms
Background preparing datasets for artificial intelligence use cases including retrieval or feature pipelines
Previous work experience within hospitality, real estate, events, or multi-location customer businesses
