Waabi is seeking an Associate to join its Strategic Finance & Corporate Development team on a full-time, remote basis. Founded by Raquel Urtasun, the organization develops Physical AI technology designed to power commercial autonomous trucks and robotaxis. The enterprise operates offices in San Francisco, Toronto, Pittsburgh, and Dallas, and collaborates with leaders across deep tech, automotive, logistics, and artificial intelligence.
This position functions as an early team member and analytical contributor within the finance department. The selected professional will build financial models, manage long-range financial plans, formulate business cases, and assist with corporate development activities. Additional duties include evaluating capital strategies, preparing investor communications, establishing foundational FP&A processes, and analyzing market trends within the autonomy and Physical AI sectors. The role offers high visibility and provides a direct view into the scaling of a frontier technology enterprise.
The compensation for this position includes a yearly base salary between USD 115,000 and 140,000, supplemented by equity incentive awards and an annual performance bonus. Responsibilities
- Build and maintain financial models for strategic and commercial initiatives
- Support the evolution of the long-range financial plan by integrating R&D milestones with commercial growth goals
- Develop analytical frameworks for new partnerships and growth initiatives
- Participate in deal modeling, structuring, and due diligence for strategic partnerships
- Explore capital expenditure financing solutions and assist with treasury strategies
- Create board-ready materials and investor communications
- Support investor relations strategies, calendar management, and quarterly reporting
- Establish core financial planning and analysis frameworks such as leadership reporting and budget-to-actual analysis
- Monitor market intelligence regarding autonomy and Physical AI
- Contribute to special projects at the intersection of finance, strategy, and operations
Requirements
- Possess 3 to 5 years of professional background in Private Equity, Investment Banking, Growth Equity, or strategic finance within a high-growth technology organization
- Demonstrate advanced financial modeling skills focused on accuracy and scalability
- Act as a self-starter capable of managing multiple workstreams independently in an ambiguous environment
- Communicate complex data clearly to executive audiences
