Cloudflare is seeking an Associate for Strategic Finance & Investor Relations to join its compact investor relations team. Cloudflare operates a massive global network that protects and accelerates internet properties, ranging from personal blogs to Fortune 500 companies, with the mission of helping build a better internet. In this position, the employee will engage directly with Wall Street, contribute to quarterly earnings cycles, manage consensus and financial models, assist with investor events including annual Investor Days, and execute strategic finance projects for executive leadership.
This is a high-visibility, hands-on role where outputs are reviewed directly by the CEO, CFO, Board of Directors, and public markets, requiring extreme accuracy and rigorous attention to detail. The team operates with an AI-native approach, leveraging modern technological tools to amplify productivity, speed, and analytical insight. Candidates will interact closely with internal departments such as Finance, Accounting, Legal, Communications, and FP&A. The position is designated as remote, with an estimated annual base salary ranging from USD 117,000 to 161,000 for Bay Area based hires, plus eligibility to participate in the company equity plan and benefit programs.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end quarterly earnings preparation including press releases, supplemental files, prepared statements, Q&A prep, and investor decks
- Build and maintain consensus models by gathering sell-side estimates and benchmarking them against internal company forecasts
- Assist with the guidance framework, performing share count forecasts, sensitivity analyses, and preparing supporting documents for executives
- Conduct thorough tie-out and validation reviews across all disclosures, filings, scripts, and presentations to guarantee data consistency
- Coordinate earnings Q&A preparation, peer transcript analysis, backup material generation, and the post-earnings analyst callback program
- Manage daily engagement with institutional investors and sell-side analysts, answer inbound inquiries, and maintain the investor database
- Help plan and execute investor events such as sell-side conferences, non-deal roadshows, one-on-one meetings, and on-site investor visits
- Draft briefing documents for executives containing talking points, Q&A guides, and investor profiles ahead of external meetings
- Maintain core IR collateral including fact sheets, investor presentations, and website content, while analyzing shareholder ownership for targeting
- Support the planning and execution of the annual Investor Day logistics, registrations, and content creation
- Perform strategic finance projects like peer benchmarking, competitive analysis, and long-range financial modeling
- Synthesize market trends, peer results, and analyst coverage into summaries for leadership using AI-native workflows and tools
Requirements
- Possess 3 to 5 years of professional background in investor relations, investment banking, equity research, corporate finance, FP&A, or equity investing
- Demonstrate strong financial modeling capabilities with experience building operating models, share count forecasts, and consensus models
- Exhibit solid comprehension of public company reporting, financial statements, and valuation methodologies
- Show exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to absolute data accuracy
- Maintain an ownership mindset with the organizational skills to handle multiple concurrent deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Communicate effectively in writing to produce concise materials and translate complex technical ideas for senior leaders
- Exercise high-trust collaboration across cross-functional teams including Legal, Accounting, Finance, and Communications
- Apply AI-native curiosity and fluency with modern AI tools to drive productivity and insights
