VacancyMail is currently seeking skilled Borehole Plumbers & Installers to join operations in Harare on a full-time, on-site basis. This practical role focuses on setting up, servicing, and fixing underground water systems, including pumps, storage tanks, and related piping networks.
The position is well-suited for hardworking individuals who possess technical training from an accredited technical institution or polytechnic college and enjoy hands-on physical labor. Professionals in this position will handle various installations ranging from residential and commercial setups to agricultural irrigation projects.
Selected candidates will collaborate with engineers and technicians to ensure reliable water delivery systems are properly installed and tested. Key duties involve managing pipelines made of HDPE and PVC, setting up control equipment, placing submersible pumps, and executing necessary repairs. Applicants must maintain proper site safety standards and take precise measurements to follow technical drawings.
Responsibilities
- Set up complete borehole water systems
- Connect submersible borehole pumps and rising mains
- Install HDPE, PVC, and other water pipelines
- Mount water tanks, stands, and plumbing fixtures
- Link boreholes to residential, commercial, and irrigation networks
- Put in pressure tanks, valves, and control equipment
- Take out and replace pumps as needed
- Perform plumbing repairs and maintenance
- Fit pump control boxes and related hardware
- Participate in solar borehole pump setups
- Handle pipe trenching, laying, jointing, and testing
- Find and fix leaks and plumbing problems
- Conduct pressure testing on installed pipelines
- Support engineers and technicians during system commissioning
- Care for tools, equipment, and materials on site
- Adhere to measurements, drawings, and safety protocols
Requirements
- Certificate, National Certificate, or Diploma in Plumbing, Water Engineering, Irrigation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related trade from a recognized Polytechnic or Technical College
- Practical knowledge of borehole plumbing and pump installations
- Familiarity with HDPE and PVC pipe installations
- Competence in using plumbing tools safely
- Skill in taking accurate measurements and following technical instructions
- Physical fitness to work across different project sites
- Reliable, disciplined, and hardworking work ethic
- Capacity to operate independently and within a technical team
Qualifications
