Job Description

Anthropic seeks a Capacity Deployment Lead - Data Center Operations to manage the rollout of new compute capacity across partner-operated data center facilities. Anthropic is an artificial intelligence safety and research company that builds reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems.

In this execution-focused program role, the professional will oversee infrastructure delivery ranging from construction kickoff to the ready-for-service stage. The scope encompasses accelerator systems, server racks, and surrounding infrastructure across current and future sites. Candidates should expect over 50 percent travel to conduct on-site verification, collaborate with hardware vendors and operations partners, and guide each capacity unit through integration, quality assurance, power-on, and validation.

This opportunity suits professionals with an extensive background in data center hardware deployment who thrive in fast-paced environments and possess deep technical expertise in server, network, and rack-level equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage deployment outcomes for assigned sites and data-hall waves to ensure ready-for-service milestones are met or risks are escalated early
  • Confirm deployment readiness prior to each wave by evaluating floor access, power, network connectivity, receiving paths, and partner staffing
  • Conduct on-site visits during delivery, deployment, quality assurance, and close-out to verify work directly through observation and telemetry data
  • Collaborate with site leadership to drive rack delivery, receiving, integration quality assurance, power-on, network turn-up, and burn-in validation
  • Validate handover gates for each capacity unit to guarantee completion of acceptance criteria, documentation, and maintenance program integration
  • Convert lessons learned from each deployment into standardized procedures, checklists, and metrics to optimize future waves
  • Scale the deployment program to new sites and hardware platforms while modifying acceptance criteria as technology evolves
  • Report deployment status, dependencies, constraints, and risks to engineering, capacity planning, schedule owners, and leadership

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in data center operations or hardware deployment in a technical lead, manager, or related capacity
  • Demonstrated track record of leading large-scale compute or network hardware deployments across multiple sites from floor access to ready-for-service
  • Experience managing vendors, original equipment manufacturers, or contract workforces toward measurable milestones and quality gates
  • Hands-on technical proficiency in server, network, and rack-level hardware to independently verify deployment quality
  • Background in building or significantly improving operational processes and utilizing ticket, schedule, and telemetry data for decision-making
  • Ability to travel extensively and work on-site for extended periods during delivery surges and turn-up windows

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant domain or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with GPU, accelerator, or high-density liquid-cooled infrastructure and rack bring-up
  • Background standing up operations at a new site or data hall from commissioning handoff through initial deployment
  • Experience deploying multiple accelerator platforms or introducing new hardware into an established program
  • Familiarity delivering outcomes within partner-operated or colocation sites utilizing third-party floor operations
  • Knowledge of dense accelerator network cabling, optics, and high-speed interconnect at rack and pod scale

Core Skills

Benefits

  • Annual compensation range from $320,000 to $405,000 USD
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package
  • Optional equity donation matching
  • Generous vacation and parental leave policies
  • Flexible working hours
