JumpCloud is seeking a Chief Architect to join its team on a remote basis in India. The company provides an AI-powered unified IT management platform focused on identity, device, and access management for the modern workforce.
In this position, the Chief Architect will shape the next generation of the platform's architecture, serve as the primary AI evangelist, and guide engineering leadership. The role involves designing high-scale systems, conducting technical competitive analysis, and mentoring engineering teams. Candidates must be located in and authorized to work in India.
This opportunity is suited for an experienced technologist with a background in identity and access management, distributed cloud architectures, and AI integration. The role requires participation in on-call rotations and fluent communication skills in English.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate current platform architecture and implement transformative design updates incorporating advanced artificial intelligence
- Promote AI strategy internally and externally while championing a culture of innovation within the identity domain
- Advise the Head of Engineering and executive leadership by translating complex AI developments into actionable strategies
- Design scalable, secure, and robust AI-driven systems capable of supporting massive global identity workflows and high data volumes
- Mentor technical teams hands-on and foster continuous learning among individual contributors and engineering managers
- Analyze competing products in the AI and directory-as-a-service markets to maintain architectural advantages
- Adapt technical strategies quickly to accommodate newly emerging AI models, frameworks, and security regulations
Requirements
- Fifteen or more years of software engineering and architecture experience
- At least four years of dedicated experience working with deep AI integrations
- Professional background in identity and access management, directory-as-a-service, zero trust, or endpoint management
- Demonstrated track record of building and maintaining distributed cloud architectures and data pipelines at massive scale
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to executive leadership
- Strong analytical capability to evaluate competitor products and anticipate industry trends
- Fluent written and spoken English language skills
Qualifications
- Experience with public thought leadership such as conference speaking or publishing technical papers
- Knowledge of data privacy laws, AI ethics, and data security
- Hands-on coding proficiency in languages such as Python, Go, or Rust for creating proof-of-concepts
- Advanced certifications or deep expertise in major cloud-native orchestration and AI ecosystems like AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Background working in high-growth startup environments
