The person hired into this position will hold the SMF16 Compliance Oversight designation, acting as the primary liaison for the Financial Conduct Authority and guiding the organization through the regulatory landscape surrounding investment and cryptocurrency products.

Responsibilities encompass managing the compliance framework, overseeing financial crime and anti-money laundering programs alongside the Money Laundering Reporting Officer, managing Consumer Duty oversight, and chairing the Risk and Compliance Committee. The candidate will also review marketing communications and financial promotions to verify adherence to standards set by regulators.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the compliance framework in alignment with Financial Conduct Authority regulations and relevant legislation
  • Track regulatory updates and evaluate their operational consequences for the business
  • Design and execute the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan while resolving identified issues promptly
  • Deliver practical regulatory guidance to senior leadership regarding business initiatives, investments, and cryptocurrency products
  • Serve as the main contact point for the Financial Conduct Authority and other regulatory authorities
  • Assume responsibility for Consumer Duty oversight
  • Partner with the Money Laundering Reporting Officer to supervise anti-money laundering and financial crime systems
  • Identify and evaluate risks alongside the first line of defense
  • Examine marketing materials, website text, and financial promotions to guarantee regulatory alignment
  • Lead the Risk and Compliance Committee as chair
  • Deliver guidance, training, and independent compliance investigations for team members
  • Establish and communicate core values, risk appetite, and risk culture at the board level

Requirements

  • Reside in the United Kingdom
  • Possess at least 10 years of prior regulatory compliance background inside an institution regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority
  • Hold or have the capacity to secure approval for the Senior Management Function SMF16
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the Financial Conduct Authority Handbook, SM&CR, UK Money Laundering Regulations, and Consumer Duty
  • Show documented experience handling authorisations, supervisory interactions, and regulatory reporting with the Financial Conduct Authority
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence and its practical application
  • Commit to working on-site in London five days per week
