Job Description

Swiggy is hiring a City Growth Manager for Chennai, India. The full-time, on-site role leads expansion work in the city: spotting opportunities, building expansion plans and running city-level programs that increase the company's presence and market share.

The manager reads market trends, demographics and competitor activity to locate high-potential areas. Building ties with officials in government, municipal bodies, community figures and other stakeholders is central, and the role represents the company at public forums, community gatherings and municipal meetings. Experiments include A/B tests and quasi-experimental designs to assess new initiatives. The role also studies how fees, service levels, product range, search experience and loyalty perks affect repeat use and customer value. Hyperlocal campaigns linked to festivals and major sporting events, aimed at new user acquisition, are part of the brief. The posting asks for five or more years in municipal or regional development, such as city management or expansion projects.

Responsibilities

  • Build and carry out growth plans that lift market share and footprint throughout Chennai and adjacent regions.
  • Review market direction, population data and competitor positioning to spot expansion openings.

  • Set up dashboards, run weekly and monthly reporting, and generate insights through root-cause work.
  • Design and run A/B tests on new offers, initiatives and product nudges.
  • Analyze how fees, service levels, availability, search, user experience and loyalty affect repeat rate, churn and lifetime value.
  • Run digital and offline hyperlocal campaigns around festivals, sports events and new-user acquisition.
  • Prepare reports for senior leaders and represent the company at public forums.

Requirements

  • Five or more years in municipal or regional development roles, such as city management, urban development or expansion work.
  • Record of scaling operations and delivering measurable growth in competitive markets.
  • Working knowledge of urban planning, municipal regulation and local governance.
  • Proven stakeholder management with government and community groups.
  • Strong analytical ability spanning data work, market studies and financial modelling.

Qualifications
