BeyondTrust is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to join its remote United States team on a full-time basis. In this role, the professional will scale traditional on-premises networking principles into Amazon Web Services cloud infrastructure, focusing primarily on operating and designing environments compliant with FedRAMP standards. BeyondTrust is a global leader in identity security that provides a cybersecurity SaaS portfolio designed to protect the entire identity attack surface and neutralize threats for thousands of organizations worldwide.
This position requires a candidate who can balance technical judgment and operational discipline while acting as the main point of contact between the Cloud Ops and Network departments. Responsibilities include building AWS architectures, resolving CIDR allocation overlaps, automating infrastructure, and handling escalation duties. Travel to company offices or datacenters may be required on occasion, ranging between five and ten percent of the schedule.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support on-site and cloud network assets, covering routing, switching, datacenter adjustments, and firewall modifications across environments
- Engineer AWS network topologies incorporating VPCs, Transit Gateway, VPN, Direct Connect, Route 53, and security guardrails to meet FedRAMP, ISO 27001, and SOX standards
- Lead a project to resolve CIDR block conflicts by auditing current allocations, drafting a new addressing scheme, and performing migration tasks with minimal production interruption
- Act as the primary daily bridge between the Network and Cloud Ops groups for infrastructure design, joint changes, and incident management
- Guide and mentor Network Administrators and Engineers regarding cloud connectivity best practices and AWS networking fundamentals
- Create and update Infrastructure-as-Code via Python, Terraform, and Ansible, submitting reusable code modules to the team library
- Take part in a rotating 24x7 on-call schedule to independently handle Tier-1 and Tier-2 connectivity escalations
- Keep architectural records, IPAM databases, network blueprints, and standard operating procedures accurate and up to date
- Handle procurement, renewals, and vendor relationships for circuit providers and cloud connectivity utilities
- Fulfill travel obligations to datacenters or offices as needed up to ten percent of the time
Requirements
- Possess three to five years of overall experience in network engineering or administration
- Bring at least two years of practical AWS cloud networking background, including VPC setup, Transit Gateway, VPN or Direct Connect, Route 53, and security controls
- Demonstrate solid foundational knowledge of on-premises networking at an engineer or administrator level
- Have three to five years of hands-on familiarity with Cisco NX-OS, IOS, IOS-XE, Palo Alto, and Dell hardware
- Show a proven history of deploying and maintaining security architectures aligned with frameworks like SOC2, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP
- Exhibit strong organizational and documentation capabilities to produce clear diagrams, IPAM logs, and runbooks ready for audit
- Maintain effective cross-functional communication skills to bridge technical groups with differing priorities
Qualifications
- Hold a CCNA certification or possess equivalent practical experience
- Have a CCNP in progress or equivalent experience at the Network Engineer level
- Familiarity with IPAM software such as Infoblox, NetBox, phpIPAM, or BlueCat
- Background working with Azure hybrid connectivity and networking tools
- Direct involvement in backing a FedRAMP Authority to Operate or continuous monitoring workflow
- Past technical project leadership or formal project management background
- Competence in dynamic routing protocols including BGP and EIGRP, alongside identity services like TACACS+, RADIUS, Duo, Okta, and Cisco ISE
