Job Description
Mozilla seeks a Contract Senior Data Analyst to focus on the Gecko platform, which serves as the core engine for its product experience. This remote position involves analyzing telemetry data across Desktop and Android platforms to connect engineering performance with product strategy. The professional in this role will build automated dashboards, audit the Gecko codebase for missing telemetry probes, establish data sanitization frameworks to filter out bot traffic and hardware noise, and produce behavioral inference reports. The ideal candidate will work independently within complex technical problem spaces, collaborating closely with the Performance Team, Data Team, and Product Leadership to provide high-fidelity data for technical budgets and performance priorities.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain high-level overview dashboards for leadership and product managers
- Audit the Gecko codebase to locate missing collection probes
- Create methodologies and tools to isolate and filter bot traffic and hardware noise from telemetry
- Deliver deep-dive analysis reports connecting technical performance metrics with user engagement trends
Requirements
- Advanced SQL skills using BigQuery or Redash
- Proficiency in data visualization using AI tooling
- Experience performing statistical analysis such as Pearson correlation and multivariate analysis
- Domain knowledge regarding browser component interactions and user experience impact
- Ability to work independently and navigate unfamiliar technical problem spaces with minimal guidance
Qualifications
- Familiarity with Rust or C++
- Strong proficiency with AI tools such as Claude Code or Codex
