Job Description
TalentCross is recruiting a senior data architect for a fully remote role that works on Argentina time (ART). The client is an insurance company modernizing a data platform that runs on SQL Server, SSIS and SSAS, and is moving toward a modern cloud architecture. The target stack has not been chosen yet. The client already has AWS infrastructure, so the architect must weigh the options and recommend the best fit for the business.
The architect defines the target platform across ingestion, storage, transformation, serving and governance, and plans a phased migration away from the legacy stack. The job includes setting standards for modelling, data quality, lineage and governance, designing reusable pipeline and orchestration patterns, and deciding how to replace or evolve the SSAS semantic layer, including tabular cubes and MDX. The architect mentors the data engineer, reviews implementations, and keeps analytics such as reporting, churn models and segmentation running while the legacy system is still in use.
The posting asks for at least four years of hands-on data work, not just conceptual architecture, and proven experience with on-premises to cloud migrations. Productive Python and Airflow skills, strong Kimball dimensional modelling, and experience with a modern cloud warehouse such as Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery or Synapse are required. Lakehouse knowledge with Databricks, Delta Lake or Iceberg is also needed, along with cloud security fundamentals such as IAM, encryption and role-based access.
The role is full-time, with an initial term of five months that may continue indefinitely, and pay is in US dollars. The posting asks for an immediate start.
