EngiFlex is looking for an experienced professional to join a growing small and medium-sized enterprise in a remote capacity. The chosen specialist will help expand and professionalize a modern, cloud-based data platform.
This role centres on designing, building, optimizing, and maintaining scalable and reliable data solutions utilizing Microsoft Fabric. Responsibilities include working with large-scale data pipelines, integrating data from diverse source systems, and developing performant data models to support reporting and analytics environments.
The successful candidate will collaborate with architects, analysts, technical teams, and business stakeholders while contributing to architecture, data quality, data governance, and knowledge sharing.
Responsibilities
- Design, construct, optimize, and maintain scalable data pipelines within a modern cloud data environment
- Integrate data from multiple sources including relational databases, APIs, files, and applications
- Develop and manage lakehouse, warehouse, and medallion architectures focusing on reusability and performance
- Translate reporting needs into effective data models and reliable datasets
- Implement ETL processes for large-scale data workflows
- Monitor, document, and improve existing data flows and pipelines
- Handle data projects independently from analysis through implementation and delivery
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, architects, and technical teams
- Contribute to standards, best practices, CI/CD, version control, and solution deployment
- Support the maturity of the data landscape and aid internal knowledge sharing
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as a senior data engineer, with medior-level experience also required in this context
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based data architectures and Azure lakehouse or warehouse concepts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric, specifically pipelines, dataflows, and notebooks
- Experience integrating data from multiple source systems
- Programming experience using Python, Java, or Scala for datastreams and ETL processes, with specific data engineering experience in Python
- Knowledge of SQL and query optimization
- Experience with databases and Spark or Spark-based processing
- Familiarity with CI/CD, version control, and deployment
- Experience with Power BI and supporting reporting and analytics environments
- Understanding of medallion architecture including bronze, silver, and gold layers
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality management, and lineage
- Familiarity with Kimball methodology for data modeling
- Understanding of lakehouse, datamesh, or domain-oriented data architectures
- Experience within public, municipal, or complex enterprise environments
- C2 level proficiency in Dutch, with the ability to express oneself excellently in the language
