Ashby seeks its first Demo Engineer to manage and enhance the systems powering the go-to-market team's demonstration environments. Operating within Solutions Engineering and reporting to the Global Head of Solutions Engineering, this new position focuses on replacing manual demo account maintenance with automated, scalable infrastructure. The role is split roughly seventy percent on customizing and extending the demo template system alongside its data and content, and thirty percent on managing release readiness, documentation, and team enablement. Ideal candidates possess hands-on technical skills involving configuration files, REST APIs, JSON, scripting, and data preparation.
This is a behind-the-scenes role rather than a customer-facing or closing position, requiring comfort with early-stage ambiguity and a preference for building scalable internal tools over product features. Ashby develops recruiting software that assists talent acquisition leaders, recruiters, and hiring managers with data-driven hiring workflows. Responsibilities
- Manage and extend the demo environment infrastructure to support commercial teams
- Automate and standardize demo data generation to remove manual setup tasks
- Develop market- and vertical-specific demonstration content
- Verify that new product features are fully configured and functional in demo environments prior to general availability
- Provision sandbox and trial environments for prospective buyers
- Produce and maintain clear documentation for internal demo assets
Requirements
- Hands-on technical capability with JSON, REST or developer APIs, AI tools, and scripting
- Strong systems thinking and an iterative mindset focused on automation
- Product intuition with the ability to quickly learn highly configurable software
- Cross-functional collaboration skills working with engineering and commercial teams
Qualifications
- Prior experience building demo environments, sandbox accounts, trial setups, or demo data at a software company
- Background in writing automation scripts or tooling for large-scale data generation and environment configuration
- Experience creating and maintaining libraries of reusable demo assets
- Familiarity with recruiting operations, ATS workflows, or HR technology
