Job Description

Ashby seeks a Product Manager, Onboarding and Growth to spearhead customer onboarding, adoption, and product-led growth initiatives for its flagship applicant tracking system and expanding product suite. The employer provides a recruitment platform designed to help organizations of varying sizes manage, hire, and retain talent, supported by high-profile clients like OpenAI, Shopify, and Notion. In this position, the professional will operate as the inaugural growth and onboarding product lead, analyzing the entire customer journey to design effective product pathways and email workflows. Rather than focusing heavily on standard A/B testing or detailed specification writing, the role relies on deep product thinking, thorough customer research, and partnership with the data, revenue operations, and customer success teams. Responsibilities include defining product-qualified leads, establishing key adoption metrics, and refining feature functionality to streamline user adoption. Candidates will work alongside high-agency engineers who own projects end-to-end.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the complete customer journey to design a thoughtful onboarding experience utilizing the product and email communications
  • Partner closely with the customer success team to build upon their human-led onboarding foundation
  • Own transactional email experiences triggered by product signals
  • Define and track key adoption and growth metrics with support from the data team
  • Establish the definition of a product-qualified lead in conjunction with the revenue operations team
  • Implement product modifications and feature updates to simplify user onboarding and drive long-term adoption
  • Create frameworks and consult with other product teams to support adoption across different product areas

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience owning onboarding, expansion, or growth for a business-to-business software-as-a-service product
  • Ability to build a growth strategy rooted in principled thinking, research, and data
  • Track record of driving long-term growth results
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Experience developing product metrics connected directly to customer value
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with customer success teams
  • Skill in coaching and motivating high-agency engineers while driving project urgency

Core Skills

Benefits

  • Ten-year exercise window for stock options
  • Unlimited paid time off with four weeks recommended annually
  • Twelve weeks of fully paid family leave in the United States
  • Generous budget for equipment, software, and office furniture
  • Monthly education budget of one hundred dollars with larger items covered upon approval
  • Monthly tool budget of two hundred fifty dollars alongside access to Cursor, Claude, and Codex with token budgets
  • Top-tier health insurance for employees and dependents in the US with one hundred percent of premiums covered, or high-quality supplemental health insurance internationally
