Job Description
Bluelight is a software consultancy with teams spanning the United States and Central and South America. It is hiring a DevOps, SRE or DevSecOps engineer for a remote role based in Latin America. The engineer must be able to overlap with US business hours and will work on demanding, large-scale systems for client projects.
Day-to-day tooling centers on AWS services such as ECS and Fargate, RDS and Aurora, load balancers, VPC networking, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS and S3. Experience running Aurora or PostgreSQL in production is essential, including multi-AZ failover handling and watching read replica lag. Infrastructure is defined as code with Terraform or CloudFormation, containers run on Docker, and CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation and rollback procedures are exercised through periodic drills.
Reliability and security carry real weight. The engineer uses OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch or similar observability tools, runs load tests with k6 or comparable software against latency targets and error budgets, scans for vulnerabilities, manages secrets, and helps assemble SOC 2 documentation while working through client security assessments. Incident handling, on-call duty and root-cause analysis are also part of the role.
The listing asks for five years or more in DevOps, SRE or DevSecOps positions and a bachelor's degree. Ownership, accountability, client commitment and meticulous detail are emphasized. Compensation includes a competitive base and bonuses, pay raises tied to performance, generous time off, flexible hours, remote work and sponsored training, exams and certifications. Preferred extras include S3 Object Lock, PostgreSQL row-level security, schema migration tools and compliance-heavy sectors.
