Zone & Co is seeking a remote Director of Engineering for the Americas to oversee platform services, AI initiatives, quote-to-cash, and procure solutions under a contract employment arrangement. Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of software engineers across the Americas and EMEA
- Drive transformations in software delivery using agentic SDLC and spec-driven development models
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of platform services, AI features, quote-to-cash, and procure products
- Provide hands-on technical guidance and architectural oversight across Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, and managed AWS services
- Conduct code and architecture reviews to maintain high engineering standards
- Collaborate with Product, Professional Services, and Customer Success to translate business needs into scalable solutions
- Serve as a senior technical contact for strategic regional customer relationships
- Prioritize and drive the remediation of technical debt and foundational architecture improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in software engineering
- Minimum of 5 years in senior leadership roles managing remote-first teams across multiple time zones
- Proven experience building AI and ML pipelines, agentic workflows, and LLM frameworks
- Experience with Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript
- Experience utilizing AWS services including Bedrock, ECS, Lambda, and DynamoDB
- Familiarity with agentic SDLC, CI/CD, DevOps, and DevEx practices
- Domain experience in fintech, billing, reporting, or enterprise resource planning systems
