Founded in 2005 in Montreal, Canada, Lightspeed provides a cloud commerce platform that unifies online and physical operations, multi-channel sales, global payments, and financial solutions for retail, hospitality, and golf businesses in over 100 countries. In this role, you will lead Group Product Managers and Senior Product Managers across North America and EMEA, holding direct accountability for payments penetration, gross payment volume (GPV) growth, and merchant onboarding conversion across retail and hospitality platforms.

The successful candidate will define multi-year product strategies, establish product governance, and align product, engineering, and commercial teams. You will collaborate closely with engineering directors, design leaders, and commercial executives, reporting directly to the VP of Product for Financial Services. This position requires someone with a deep grasp of unit economics, payment ecosystems, platform architecture, and executive presence to present product direction to the C-suite and Board of directors. Lightspeed operates as an equal opportunity employer committed to an inclusive and barrier-free workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate a multi-year product strategy for Payments tied to company OKRs and P&L targets

  • Hire top talent, build strong team culture, and develop product leaders with clear succession plans
  • Raise product management standards across discovery, commercial modeling, pricing, packaging, and data-driven execution
  • Partner with engineering, design, product marketing, sales, operations, and finance teams to align commercial targets with delivery
  • Manage key partner relationships with payment processors and acquirers to determine build, buy, and partnership strategies
  • Consolidate fragmented payments capabilities into a coherent platform across product lines
  • Balance long-term platform investments with quarterly commitments while making trade-offs under uncertainty
  • Present product direction, clear metrics, and strategic viewpoints to the C-suite and the Board

Requirements

  • 2 to 3+ years of experience at a Director level or equivalent managing larger teams through direct and indirect reports
  • Previous ownership of a full line of business or major product vertical such as payments, billing, or point of sale
  • Demonstrated track record of hiring, developing, and promoting product leaders
  • Experience driving structural, technical, or strategic change inside a mature technology organization
  • Strong executive presence when working with VP and C-suite partners
  • Deep understanding of business models, unit economics, pricing, and P&L impact
  • Fluency in payments ecosystems including acquiring, interchange, settlement, reconciliation, and compliance
  • Familiarity with platform architecture, APIs, microservices, and leading platform consolidations or migrations

Core Skills

Benefits

  • Equity options
  • Contributions to a pension plan and RRSP plan with match
  • Training and continuous learning opportunities
  • Health and wellness credit along with medical, dental, life, and disability insurance
