Abnormal is seeking a remote Director, Renewals to manage the global renewals team and oversee revenue retention across the company's multi-product behavioral security platform. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Customer Success, this leadership role requires designing the complete renewal strategy, operating model, segmentation approach, and corresponding playbooks to ensure scalable growth. The successful candidate will direct the full renewal lifecycle, monitor pipeline health, identify preservation strategies for at-risk accounts, and refine forecasting models for bookings, churn, and net annual recurring revenue. Responsibilities
- Design and direct the end-to-end global renewals strategy, operating model, segmentation approach, playbooks, and supporting systems.
- Lead, mentor, and establish performance goals for a team of Renewal Managers and Specialists covering bookings, gross renewal retention, upsells, and forecast accuracy.
- Oversee the entire renewal lifecycle from early engagement and term negotiation to commitment security and contract execution.
- Monitor pipeline health, spot at-risk accounts, deploy preservation strategies, and report on key retention metrics.
- Collaborate with sales and customer success teams to find expansion opportunities during renewal discussions.
- Build and mature forecasting models for renewal bookings, churn, and net annual recurring revenue for senior leadership.
- Handle escalations and support staff during complex negotiations or large-scale renewals.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SaaS pricing models, licensing, contract terms, and cybersecurity industry trends.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of professional background in renewals, post-sales, or account management within a B2B SaaS company.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience managing direct reports.
- Demonstrated track record of owning gross retention as a top-line commitment at scale with measurable forecast accuracy.
- Experience building or substantially maturing a renewals function including motion design, segmentation, and tooling.
- Executive presence and influence for C-level internal alignment and high-stakes customer negotiations.
- Quantitative and operational fluency in forecasting models, retention economics, and systems such as Salesforce and Gainsight.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to develop and motivate a team.
- Experience building and operationalizing artificial intelligence tools to enhance post-sales and renewal workflows.
