The group operates at the intersection of business partnerships and product innovation, cooperating closely with business development, implementation success, and solutions engineering units to construct reliable and scalable systems for a global payment network.
This is a hands-on leadership position where the individual will guide engineers, direct technical decisions, and collaborate with product managers to deliver scalable systems. Responsibilities include supervising performance and hiring, translating strategy into technical roadmaps, guiding architecture and design, and driving engineering excellence. The ideal candidate has experience leading high-performing teams, expertise in distributed systems and microservices, and familiarity with the JVM platform including Java, Kotlin, and Spring Boot. The starting salary ranges from GBP 106,000 to 135,000 per year, accompanied by RSUs.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coach engineers while managing hiring, mentoring, and performance evaluation
- Translate product strategy into technical roadmaps that support key performance indicators
- Direct architecture and technical design choices for globally scalable systems
- Coordinate with cross-functional groups to facilitate bank integrations and extend the payment network
- Promote engineering excellence through code reviews, mentorship, and best practices
- Contribute directly to team systems in a hands-on capacity when necessary
- Identify product improvements while balancing short-term delivery and long-term technical health
Requirements
