The Site Reliability Engineering division seeks an Engineering Manager to guide a team focused on platform dependability, tooling, and systems.

In this position, the selected individual will direct a group of Site Reliability Engineers while collaborating across departments to enhance scalability, performance, availability, and observability. Responsibilities include defining technical priorities, guiding incident management processes, fostering automation, and balancing immediate operational demands with long-term strategic investments. This position suits a collaborative people leader who maintains enough technical depth to evaluate trade-offs, navigate ambiguous situations calmly, and guide effective solutions without assigning blame.

Candidates must possess a background in software engineering, infrastructure, or reliability engineering, combined with personnel management experience. Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support the career growth of a team of Site Reliability Engineers.
  • Establish technical direction and priorities centered on system reliability, availability, and performance.
  • Partner with cross-functional groups including product, infrastructure, security, and engineering to define reliability standards.
  • Drive operational excellence and incident response, encompassing post-incident reviews, service-level objectives, capacity planning, and observability.
  • Promote self-service tooling and automation to minimize toil and increase deployment confidence.
  • Communicate project statuses, reliability risks, and trade-offs transparently to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field like Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of seven years working in infrastructure engineering, software engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or a related domain.
  • At least two years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing engineering teams.
  • Professional background utilizing cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, containers, networking, or orchestration platforms.
  • Practical involvement in production incident response, post-incident reviews, and operational readiness practices.
  • Experience conveying technical priorities, risks, and trade-offs to stakeholders and engineering leaders.

Qualifications

  • Experience directing platform engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, developer productivity, or infrastructure teams.
  • Background operating highly-scale, highly available services while enhancing disaster recovery, observability, capacity, or service-level objectives.
  • Familiarity with continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, tracing, monitoring, logging, and automated remediation.
  • Demonstrated history of building reliability programs across multiple teams, encompassing service ownership and operational reviews.
