This position functions as a hands-on individual contributor role that combines software engineering expertise, Agile leadership, and problem-solving abilities. The person hired will guide a team focused on quality engineering, release engineering, test automation, and engineering enablement while supporting the incremental modernization of a large-scale financial services platform.

Responsibilities
- Lead Agile team execution to foster collaboration, accountability, predictable delivery, and continuous improvement
- Build, architect, and maintain reusable engineering tools, test automation frameworks, and quality engineering practices
- Set up effective testing strategies covering API, regression, performance, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Utilize Claude and alternative AI tools to enhance engineering productivity, automation, testing, and problem-solving
- Create strategies for discovering, generating, managing, and maintaining test data across interconnected systems
- Assist with testing, release execution, validation, and troubleshooting across legacy integrations and modern applications
- Partner with engineering and product groups to refine requirements, plan sprints, manage dependencies, and deliver solutions
- Enhance automated quality gates, CI/CD integration, deployment procedures, and release confidence
- Mentor engineers, champion engineering excellence, and proactively find improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with the Ten Mile Square team for development and knowledge sharing while maintaining client confidentiality
Requirements
- Bring at least 7 years of software engineering background with significant test automation experience
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience working as an Engineering Team Lead providing hands-on technical leadership, team mentorship, and Agile delivery leadership
- Demonstrate a strong understanding and practical application of Scrum practices, Agile principles, and continuous improvement
- Hold strong programming capabilities in JavaScript, TypeScript, or comparable languages
- Show expertise in designing and building automation frameworks for APIs, distributed systems, and complex integrations
- Display demonstrated proficiency with AI-assisted software engineering tools including Claude
- Have experience working with CI/CD pipelines, AWS, SQL, and modern software architectures
- Demonstrate experience managing complex test data and resolving integration problems across multiple systems
- Possess the ability to work effectively with poorly documented, brittle, or legacy systems without needing underlying technology expertise
- Maintain a strong grasp of software engineering principles, maintainable code, and quality engineering
