Welo Global is hiring remote freelance Burmese Linguists and Copy Editors for an ongoing, long-term project with a major multinational client. This role focuses on handling marketing, user interface, product, support, informational, and legal content using a client-specific computer-assisted translation tool.
Welo Global specializes in multilingual AI, technology, and content solutions, operating a global network of over 500,000 linguists and domain experts across five distinct brands. Agencies are also welcome to apply for this contracting opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Translate content from English into Burmese
- Perform copy-editing tasks
- Conduct machine translation post-editing
- Work with marketing, UI, product, support, informational, and legal materials
- Manage an expected volume of over 5000 words per week
- Utilize a client-specific computer-assisted translation tool
Requirements
- Native or near-native proficiency in Burmese alongside an excellent command of English
- Professional translation experience either spanning at least 2 years with a relevant degree or at least 5 years without a formal degree
- Proven background in translating English into Burmese across informational, marketing, UI, product, and support content types
- Prior experience working with computer-assisted translation tools
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced localization environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, reliability, responsiveness, and openness to feedback and revisions
Qualifications
- A degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field
