The organization currently seeks a freelance English to Korean patent translator for ongoing patent translation initiatives.
This contracting role is suited for language professionals specializing in patent translation across technical fields such as chemistry, biology, computer science, electricity, and mechanics. Selected individuals will translate and proofread documentation using the XTM computer-assisted translation tool and produce files in K-Editor compatible formats including HLT, HLZ, and FIN. Successful candidates join a pool of external partners providing translation services to global production teams.
Responsibilities
- Translate patent documents from English into Korean
- Proofread patent content across chemistry, biology, computer science, electricity, and mechanics
- Deliver formatted files compatible with K-Editor such as HLT, HLZ, and FIN
- Complete an English into Korean patent translation test as part of the selection process
Requirements
- Native-level fluency in Korean
- Minimum of two years of experience translating or editing patent documents, specifically in mechanical or chemical fields
- Proficiency with computer-assisted translation tools, particularly Trados and XTM
- Ability to provide files in K-Editor compatible formats
- Good availability and quick response times
