Welo Global is seeking an experienced professional for an English into Ukrainian Review Lead position to support a major global technology client. Operating as a freelance or independent contractor, the person in this role will function as the primary linguistic expert and quality owner for the Ukrainian locale. The position involves managing quality governance, driving consistency across multiple content types such as UI, marketing, product, and legal materials, and acting as the main point of contact for the client’s Language Manager. The expected volume for this project is approximately 24 hours per month. Candidates must be physically located within one of the approved countries.
This opportunity is well-suited for individuals with a strong background in localization quality assurance who excel at stakeholder management, error analysis, and community alignment. Responsibilities include analyzing style guide updates, running alignment roundtables, coaching reviewers, and managing formal arbitration processes. Selected individuals will receive a dedicated device for project work and must undergo a background check during onboarding.
Responsibilities
- Review style guide and glossary changes to track how updates impact different content categories
- Run regular alignment sessions and publish monthly quality digests for the language community
- Coach reviewers individually through shadowing sessions and training built from real data
- Propose style guide improvements based on recurring justification patterns
- Act as the primary contact for client Language Managers regarding quality discussions and escalations
Requirements
- Three to five or more years of experience in Localization Quality Assurance, Senior Language Lead, or Quality Governance roles
- Direct experience acting as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders and managing formal arbitration processes
- Practical experience using localization evaluation frameworks including RQE, LQE, error rubrics, and severity mapping
- Native-level proficiency in Ukrainian and professional-level proficiency in English
- Physical location in one of the approved countries listed in the posting
