Job Description
This full-time, on-site Enterprise Account Executive role is based in Chicago and covers the North Central region. Elastic is looking for a high-energy seller to drive new revenue and expansion inside strategic Enterprise accounts. The person in this role owns a defined territory, builds their own pipeline, and closes complex, multi-stakeholder deals on a consumption-based model.
Responsibilities include proactive outbound outreach by email, phone, and social channels, with a goal of generating at least 50% of booked opportunities. The role also involves deep discovery to find pain points, budget, and decision criteria, followed by custom storylines and product demos that tie Elastic's search, observability, and security products to business outcomes.
The job includes leading contract and pricing talks, structuring trade-offs, and securing multi-year consumption commitments. The posting asks for forecast accuracy of at least 90%, within plus or minus 10%, and for the CRM to be kept current. Working with solution architects, the customer success team, marketing, and RevOps staff is part of the role. Commitments are typically multi-year and tied to usage, which the posting treats as central to the sales approach.

- 5 or more years closing complex enterprise deals, with consistent quota overachievement in consumption-based or usage-model environments
- Ability to apply MEDDPICC or an equivalent framework to qualify deals
- Track record of executive-level presentations and demos tied to savings, revenue, or risk reduction
- Experience landing multi-year, high-value contracts while protecting margin
- Comfortable covering observability, security, vector and classic search, and cloud spend optimization
- Willingness to learn, take feedback, and work well with internal teams
Qualifications
- Earlier work at an open-source company or a developer-focused infrastructure firm would count as a bonus
- Real enthusiasm for open-source communities and Elastic's model, with selling or advocacy in that space a plus
