Wise is currently seeking a FinCrime Operations Team Lead to focus on anti-money laundering investigations for its office located in Budapest. In this position, the professional will guide and mentor a team of investigators based in Budapest while coordinating with colleagues across five international office locations. The primary objective is to help spot suspicious payment activities, maintain compliance with relevant regulations, and drive operational efficiency.
The role involves coaching team members, tracking performance indicators, driving process improvements, and partnering with product developers to explore automation opportunities. Responsibilities
- Build, lead, and develop a team of AML investigators in Budapest
- Empower staff with necessary tools and training to excel
- Monitor and work toward improving team key performance indicators and regulatory standards
- Initiate operational process changes to boost efficiency and performance
- Collaborate with product teams and developers on automation and customer experience enhancements
- Facilitate professional growth by setting personal development plans

Requirements
- Already located and legally authorized to work in Hungary
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
- At least 2 years of experience leading and developing teams in a similar capacity
- Strong knowledge in anti-crime and anti-money laundering fields
- Good understanding of analyzing and improving team metrics
Qualifications
- Previous experience working directly within an AML team is desirable
