Wise is hiring a FinCrime Quality Specialist to join the team in Austin on a full-time, on-site basis. This role focuses on enhancing customer experience and ensuring adherence to legal and business standards through thorough agent performance monitoring, constructive evaluations, and rigorous quality management frameworks.
The person in this position will work closely with internal teams, Vendor Management, Operational Managers, and support functions like Training and Knowledge Management. Key duties involve conducting quality checks on customer service interactions, assessing high-risk workflows, identifying root causes for errors, and supporting business-critical projects.
Candidates must be comfortable navigating ambiguity, making independent decisions in complex scenarios, and managing high-stakes cases. This role suits professionals with a strong background in financial crime compliance who can provide actionable feedback and contribute to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine quality evaluations of FinCrime Operations agents and vendors by reviewing calls and written communications
- Partner with operational stakeholders and managers to discuss quality performance and escalate sensitive or urgent cases
- Identify root causes of errors and recommend improvements for processes, tooling, products, and reports
- Assist with onboarding new staff members and support specialists who require additional guidance
- Participate in interdepartmental calibration sessions and align with established quality standards
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of compliance rules, privacy procedures, and operational tooling through active participation in case handling and training
Requirements
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English to produce concise feedback summaries
- Minimum of two years of operational or compliance experience, focusing specifically on SAR, STR, or SMR investigations and filings
- Deep understanding of global financial crime regulations, sanctions, AML, and CTF standards
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office suite, and Confluence
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make problem-solving decisions under minimal supervision
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field
- Professional certifications such as CAMS, ICA, CFE, or equivalent credentials focused on regulatory compliance or fraud
- Familiarity with data analysis tooling including Looker, Lightdash, or SQL
- Prior project management training or certification
- Background in outsourcing project management, auditing, or working within a fintech or financial crime environment
