Job Description

Responsibilities

• Manage cloud cost reduction through rightsizing, waste elimination, architectural updates, and commitment-based savings
• Build reporting dashboards and actionable insights regarding cloud expenditures and financial performance
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Finance groups to match cloud resource utilization with budgets and business aims
• Take part in architecture and design evaluations to put cost-effective solutions in place early
• Utilize artificial intelligence tooling and workflows to automate insight creation at scale
• Set up, maintain, and automate recurring governance policies and best practices
• Detect and resolve cost anomalies permanently
• Run FinOps best practice workshops to foster a cost-aware culture

Requirements

• Proficiency in scripting or coding languages such as Python or Bash
• Hands-on experience utilizing cloud cost management tools and services like AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, or GCP Billing
• Experience using data analysis tools and constructing business intelligence dashboards including QuickSight, Athena, SQL, BigQuery, Looker, Domo, or Tableau
• Demonstrated background in a FinOps capacity with familiarity in cloud financial management and corporate accounting procedures
• Strong communication and presentation abilities targeted at leadership audiences
• Familiarity with agile frameworks and DevOps practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in computer science, information technology, finance, economics, data science, statistics, or an equivalent quantitative field
• AWS, GCP, or FinOps certifications
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills for querying granular billing datasets
• Expertise in Python or R for data analysis, statistical modeling, and automation scripting
• Practical background with forecasting, trend analysis, anomaly detection, and data reconciliation
• Familiarity with version-controlled analytics workflows like Git, dbt, or CI for data pipelines
• Experience applying FinOps to artificial intelligence workloads, managing AI inference costs, API consumption, token-based pricing, and agentic AI solutions
• Experience applying data science to operational or financial data using regression, time-series forecasting, clustering, and outlier detection
• Experience building or maintaining data pipelines and transformation layers such as dbt, Dataflow, Glue, Airflow, or Composer
• Experience modelling unit economics or cost-per-transaction
