Wise is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join its Account Integrity team based in London on an on-site basis. In this position, the professional will focus on tackling complex adversarial security problems to protect the global customer base from financial crime, scams, and account takeovers.
This role suits an experienced engineer with a strong product mindset who enjoys taking end-to-end project ownership. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, and data analysts to design user-facing controls, build scalable web applications, and improve real-time fraud detection systems.
Responsibilities
- Build and refine controls to shield customer accounts from account takeovers
- Design customer-facing controls alongside product and design teams
- Partner with data scientists and data analysts to enhance detection capabilities
- Improve financial crime prevention infrastructure systems
- Take end-to-end ownership of security and fraud prevention projects
- Drive product growth by raising automation levels within the money transfer platform
Requirements
- Professional experience utilizing Java or alternative JVM-based languages alongside the Spring framework
- Experience in building and designing scalable web applications that manage high volumes of traffic
- Experience with React-based frontend applications, JavaScript, and TypeScript
- Proven background in designing and operating CI/CD pipelines, distributed systems, and concurrent systems
- Experience working with both relational and non-relational databases, including schema design and query optimisation
- Commitment to test-driven development and software engineering best practices
Qualifications
- Familiarity with the machine learning lifecycle encompassing data pipelines, feature engineering, and deploying machine learning systems into production
- Experience mentoring and supporting more junior engineers
