Manila Recruitment is hiring a remote Group Finance Manager on behalf of a Sydney-based corporate catering and B2B distribution group founded in 2017. The organization provides freshly prepared food, daily menus, and event packages for corporate clients utilizing an in-house culinary team and locally sourced ingredients. In this position, the professional will lead a Philippines-based finance team of three, oversee daily financial operations across two entities, and collaborate directly with the CEO.
The early focus involves standardizing financial operations across both businesses, establishing a fast month-end close and consolidation process within 48 hours, and generating management flashes by Day 3. Key duties include managing Xero workflows, improving inventory and COGS accuracy, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining rolling cash flow forecasts, and scaling financial systems to support ongoing business expansion.
Ideal candidates possess extensive accounting experience, a background in financial leadership, and direct familiarity with Australian business accounting requirements. This full-time permanent role operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Sydney time.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a remote finance team of three based in the Philippines
- Complete group month-end close and consolidation within 48 hours of period end
- Produce management flash reporting by Day three
- Manage Xero workflows, reconciliations, and financial system integrity
- Reconcile inventory, stock, and cost of goods sold
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payment runs, collections, and payroll processing
- Prepare rolling cash flow forecasts to support capital expenditure and asset investments
- Generate consolidated management reports including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and EBITDA statements
- Maintain supporting documentation for Australian BAS, PAYG, superannuation, and external advisors
- Liaise with external accountants and prepare banking reports as required
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience
- Minimum 3 years in a financial management or leadership role with team management experience
- Prior experience supporting or working with Australian businesses in a finance capacity
- Hands-on experience preparing Australian financial information for BAS, PAYG, and superannuation
- Strict requirement for previous food industry experience
- Background in FMCG, distribution, wholesale, logistics, or supply chain
- Hands-on expertise utilizing Xero and managing multiple Xero files
- Direct experience handling inventory, stock, and cost of goods sold
Qualifications
- Formal multi-entity business experience
- Cin7 Core or transferable inventory and ERP system experience
- CPA Philippines or an equivalent professional accounting qualification
