Harbor.ai is currently seeking a remote HR Workday Transformation Consultant to support US clients with human resources and payroll modernization initiatives. This role focuses on guiding organizations through business cases, system selections, implementation oversight, and post-launch support, with a strong emphasis on professional services and law firms. The position involves a diverse mix of advisory tasks, Workday system training, and business development to expand the practice across the United States.
The ideal professional for this opportunity possesses extensive background in human resources technology and change management. Candidates will lead discovery sessions, establish target operating models, manage vendor procurement, and serve as independent advisors during implementations. Additionally, this position entails designing and executing specialized Workday education plans for internal client teams, preparing them for independent administration following project go-live.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery phases and current state assessments for human resources, payroll, and people operations to establish costed change options
- Develop business cases addressing investment benefits, costs, risks, and timelines
- Design target operating models covering roles, governance, and service delivery
- Advise senior leadership stakeholders on transformation strategy and priorities
- Execute human capital management system selection exercises and manage systems integrator procurement processes
- Review vendor proposals and statements of work to assist clients with commercial negotiations
- Act as independent advisor during implementations by offering quality assurance and design challenge
- Plan and manage client engagements while supporting workstreams such as testing and data migration
- Create training materials and deliver Workday instruction to client personnel
- Build market relationships, identify new business opportunities, and support proposal creation
Requirements
- Minimum of eight years of experience in HR transformation, HR technology, or HR operations
- Hands-on involvement in at least two complete Workday human capital management implementations
- Strong knowledge of Workday HCM and its integration with finance and payroll systems
- Experience managing or supporting system selection and vendor procurement
- Proven background in designing and delivering training sessions to HR teams
- Familiarity with US human resources and payroll regulations, including multi-state payroll
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and executive leadership
Qualifications
- Prior consulting experience
- Background working within professional services or law firms
- Active Workday certification in HCM, Payroll, Compensation, or Recruiting
- Familiarity with third-party payroll providers like ADP
- Experience handling global or cross-border programs involving UK or European teams
- Previous business development experience within a consulting firm environment
