Bosch Chassis Systems India Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Senior Engineer Application Engineer for Active Safety & New Braking Systems within its VM/EAS-IN engineering department. This on-site role involves working with a global automotive technology leader on the calibration, testing, and validation of advanced safety systems such as ABS, ESP, Integrated Power Brake, and iBooster on prototype vehicles. The position covers various vehicle types including electric, hybrid, and combustion engine models for both commercial and passenger segments. This hands-on opportunity is ideal for engineers experienced in vehicle dynamics who want to contribute to the future of mobility.
Responsibilities
- Calibrate, test, and evaluate control system algorithms on prototype vehicles to satisfy legal, Bosch, and customer specifications
- Perform comprehensive vehicle performance tests at winter and summer proving grounds and analyze findings
- Serve as a primary technical contact for clients to understand needs, offer expert assistance, and deliver projects successfully
- Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware, software, and data acquisition issues across the development lifecycle
- Partner with internal and external personnel to assist with project acquisition and development quality processes
Requirements
- Hold an engineering degree or postgraduate qualification with three or more years of automotive engineering experience
- Possess experience in the development of hydraulic brake systems
- Maintain a passenger car driving license with at least three years of driving background
- Demonstrate strong communication, active listening, and relationship management abilities
- Exhibit analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills
- Be available to travel internationally to different customer test tracks and proving grounds
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of ABS and ESP working principles, hardware, software, and use cases
- Direct testing and validation experience on test tracks and proving grounds with maneuvers like dynamic lane changes and brake tests
- Possession of a track driving license
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle dynamics, tire behavior, vehicle systems, and powertrain fundamentals
- Extensive background in homologation testing for braking and active safety systems under UNECE and AIS regulations
- Familiarity with software applications including MATLAB, Simulink, Carmaker, Doors, and ALM
- Experience using data acquisition tools, DAQS, Vbox, Vector tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, and XCP, along with sensors and external data loggers
- Basic familiarity with C and C++ programming languages
