The person in this role will act as the primary authority on AI product compliance risks, guiding cross-functional groups through discovery, design, evaluation, and launch phases. Responsibilities involve embedding compliance-by-design principles into LLM gateways, internal application platforms, and agent orchestration frameworks. The ideal candidate possesses extensive background knowledge in compliance advisory or regulatory risk within fintech, paired with technical fluency to collaborate effectively with engineering teams. This position suits an independent professional capable of navigating ambiguity, establishing new governance standards, and engaging with senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary compliance advisor and subject matter expert for artificial intelligence and agentic product offerings
- Partner with product, engineering, risk, data, operations, and legal teams to ensure regulatory compliance throughout the product lifecycle
- Identify, assess, and document compliance risks unique to automated systems, including output errors, consent issues, and data leakage
- Establish departmental compliance standards regarding launch evidence, logging requirements, and escalation paths
- Monitor regulatory and supervisory updates affecting financial technology and artificial intelligence applications
- Manage concurrent high-impact compliance workstreams and guide remediation activities when necessary
Requirements
- Possess at least eight years of experience in compliance advisory, product compliance, or regulatory risk roles
- Demonstrated background advising on machine learning or model-driven products within regulated industries
- Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks impacting banking technology, such as UDAAP, fair lending laws, FCRA, Reg E, BSA/AML, and GLBA
- Familiarity with emerging artificial intelligence frameworks like the NIST AI Risk Management Framework
- Technical fluency to discuss model behavior, testing, logging, and data access controls with engineering staff
