CoverGo is hiring a Legal Counsel to join its global insurtech team on a fully remote basis. The organization operates as a prominent no-code software provider for life, health, and property and casualty insurance companies, serving major institutional clients across Asia, EMEA, and the Americas. Backed by venture capital and strategic investors, the international company maintains a diverse workforce spanning more than 30 countries.
This position suits a detail-oriented legal professional physically located in the Philippines who wants to manage commercial agreements, corporate housekeeping, and human resources legal matters within a growing technology enterprise. The incoming counsel will collaborate with internal departments, external legal professionals, and technical teams to handle contract negotiations, data privacy concerns, intellectual property tracking, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including SaaS, service, and vendor agreements
- Advise internal departments regarding legal positions, commercial risks, and business decisions
- Support human resources on personnel matters, contractor engagements, offboarding, and related agreements
- Manage corporate housekeeping tasks such as filing regulatory documents and maintaining organized legal records
- Build and refine internal legal templates, workflows, and operational policies
- Assist technical and security groups with data processing agreements and security addenda
- Evaluate non-disclosure agreements and monitor contract renewals, milestones, and obligations
- Track corporate intellectual property and coordinate with outside counsel on filings and renewals
- Interact with external clients and service providers to resolve legal inquiries and negotiate contracts
- Assist internal stakeholders with requests for proposals and client due diligence questionnaires
Requirements
- Hold a legal degree from an accredited institution
- Bring a minimum of two years of relevant experience as a legal practitioner, legal assistant, legal officer, or paralegal
- Demonstrate proven experience drafting, reviewing, and editing contracts
- Possess strong legal research and analytical capabilities
- Maintain high organizational standards to manage multiple concurrent tasks
- Communicate exceptionally well in written and spoken English, translating complex legal concepts for non-legal audiences
- Reside physically in the Philippines
Qualifications
- Prior work experience within a technology company
- Licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction, such as passing the Philippine Bar Examination
- Background handling commercial contracts, corporate housekeeping, or employment matters
- Experience in litigation or corporate practice
