The company is currently hiring a remote Machine Learning Engineer to help make these answer systems more accurate, helpful, and relevant.
This role suits engineering professionals experienced in taking large-scale machine learning systems from initial concept all the way into production. The position involves guiding technical direction, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners in product, data science, and engineering, and mentoring peers. The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge AI architectures, retrieval methods, and foundational models to improve content discovery and user engagement.

Responsibilities
- Build and improve large-scale machine learning systems encompassing retrieval, ranking, embeddings, and features powered by large language models
- Establish technical direction and deliver measurable impact for users and the business
- Partner with cross-functional product and technical teams to shape roadmaps
- Evaluate new artificial intelligence and machine learning methods while supporting responsible development
- Mentor engineers and contribute to long-term planning for machine learning initiatives
Requirements
- Between 4 and 12 years of professional experience building, deploying, and operating machine learning systems in production
- Broad knowledge of machine learning fundamentals applied in live environments
- Practical experience developing and productionizing models using TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face Transformers
- Ability to write production-quality code incorporating testing, evaluation, and monitoring, with required proficiency in Python
- Experience handling machine learning systems such as data pipelines, feature engineering, and model training, serving, and monitoring
Qualifications
- Background in recommendations, search, content understanding, or large-scale data and machine learning infrastructure
- Familiarity with state-of-the-art large-scale recommendation systems and foundational retriever models
- Experience with retrieval-augmented generation systems, retrieval methods, large language model evaluation, or production features
- Exposure to agentic artificial intelligence tools, multi-agent systems, or orchestration
- Knowledge of self-hosted open-weight models, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, post-training, or prompt optimization
